Bholu is an Australian interiors label by designer Jodie Fried. Cloth products from Bholu are hand embroidered or hand woven in rural and urban communities in India, making this range of homewares and soft furnishing just that little bit extra special. Jodie Fried has developed a look and feel that is simple, eclectic and appeals to most contemporary tastes. A portion of the proceeds from all sales goes back into the communities, and in combination with the Anganwadi Project, helps to build pre schools in underdeveloped communities. According to the Bholu website, the Anganwadi Project has now provided over 280 children with opportunities for education and nutrition they would otherwise have never received. Not a bad effort hey? Well done Jodie for being a social entrepreneur and contributing to those less fortunate than us. A brand with this kind of ethos is sure to do well.
